YIT to build a communal senior citizens’ housing facility for the Yrjö ja Hanna foundation in Vihti
YIT Corporation Press release 24 November 2023 at 9:00 a.m.
YIT has signed an agreement with the Yrjö ja Hanna foundation for the construction of a residential apartment building named Kiinteistö Oy Vihdin Nestori in Nummela, Vihti. The contract value of the project for YIT is approximately EUR 8 million, and it will be recorded in the order book for the last quarter of 2023.
The five-storey communal senior citizens’ facility will have 43 rental apartments. The area of the ARA-funded project is 3,400 square metres. During the construction, only renewable, eco-friendly electricity will be used on the construction site. Construction work is set to commence at the end of November 2023, and the project is scheduled for completion in early 2025.
“It’s great to once again have the opportunity to carry out a project for the Yrjö ja Hanna foundation, this time in Nummela, Vihti. The continuation of our collaboration reflects the firm and trusting relationship we have with the foundation. We are also in the process of planning another project right next to the senior citizens’ building. The business concept for this is still in the planning stage,” says SVP Harri Isoviita, YIT.
“Vihti needs more and more housing suitable for older people. The project represents the latest in communal living, where you can live independently but don't have to be alone, as the shared spaces and accessibility ensure that you can always manage. In cooperation with YIT we can realise affordable, meaningful and high-quality housing in Nummela," says Petri Kokkonen, CEO of the Yrjö and Hanna Foundation.
