Wyld Networks are the first innovation company to collaborate with Embrapa AgNest
The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa), has established an open innovation platform to develop agritech through a public-private partnership between Embrapa, Banco do Brasil, Bayer, CNH and Jacto. Wyld Networks are the first innovation company to collaborate on the Embrapa AgNest programme. This also puts Wyld satellite IoT solution in front of all major Brazilian agricultural companies and global Agtech companies.
The Brazilian Agricultural Research Corporation (Embrapa) was established by the country's federal government in 1973 to develop the technological foundation for a genuinely tropical model of agriculture and animal farming. The initiative has been tasked with providing Brazil with food security and a leading position in the international market for agricultural produce. Embrapa today is one of the largest agricultural research corporations in the world, with half a century of contributions focused on innovation, efficiency, sustainability and social inclusion.
Wyld Networks are the first innovation company to collaborate technically with Embrapa Meio Ambiente on AgNest, an innovation project focused on agricultural experimentation, digital agriculture, connectivity of rural areas, and the strengthening of open innovation and entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector.
AgNest is a 60ha farm in Jaguariúna, SP and is immersed in an Ecosystem of Innovation and Entrepreneurship in Campinas. It has a tradition in Agriculture and Information and Communication Technology and is close to a large group of Universities, Institutes of Science and Technology, Companies and Entrepreneurs.
At US$166.55 billion in 2023, Brazilian agricultural exports continue to show impressive growth, driven by new agtech and growing global demand. Wyld’s innovative satellite IoT products in conjunction with Embrapa and the AgNest project will enable connectivity for the sustainable development of Brazilian agriculture.
“Agnest at Embrapa is a model environment for carrying out proofs of concept, co-creation and validation of technologies in an integrated and systemic way, with social and environmental impact,” said Janaina Tanure, deputy head of Technology Transfer and Innovation at Embrapa Meio Ambiente.
"Embrapa is Latin America’s most important agricultural institution. We are delighted to be working with them on the AgNest project to connect with major agricultural companies and Brazil’s growing ecosystem of agtech innovators,” said Alastair Williamson, CEO of Wyld Networks. "We are delighted to start this partnership with Embrapa to support growth in agriculture and the agtech sector in Brazil."
