Urb-it expands in the UK by launching in Birmingham
URB-IT EXPANDS IN THE UK BY LAUNCHING IN BIRMINGHAM
- Sustainable delivery services now available in the UK's second largest city and Urb-it's sixth city in the UK

Urb-it, the rapidly growing sustainable logistics platform, is delighted to announce it has launched its sustainable last mile delivery services in Birmingham, UK. It is the UK's second largest city and sixth UK city that Urb-it's couriers and e-cargo bike fleet will operate in.
Birmingham city centre is undergoing one of the most comprehensive urban transformations in Europe and the city is committed to being carbon neutral by 2030. The Birmingham Transport Plan 2031 has outlined a bold approach to reducing transport emissions, which will transform the city centre, promote the use of cycling and walking for central city travel and will introduce a 20mph default speed limit for all residential streets in the city.
In 2021 a Clean Air Zone policy was introduced in central Birmingham, in line with the UK Government policy to reduce high levels of NO2 in areas, where charges apply to vehicles that do not meet a certain emissions standard.
Launching in Birmingham is aligned with Urb-it's mission to offer sustainable last mile delivery services in the largest cities in Europe - with high proportions of population density, e-commerce and environmental regulation in effect. Urb-it's couriers on its e-cargo bike fleet not only reduce air pollution, noise pollution and congestion, but are also more efficient in city centres by being able to do twice as many delivery stops.
Urb-it operates in ten cities across the UK and France and has most recently launched in Spain, Europe's fastest growing e-commerce market. In March 2022 it won Best Supply Chain Solution Award at The Retail Supply Chain & Logistics Expo.
