The Power of Open File Formats, Exchange of Data, and Advanced 3D Visualization: Introducing Ranplan 7.0
Cambridge, UK, 30 July 2024 – Ranplan Wireless, a pioneering software developer, proudly announces the release of Ranplan 7.0, the latest version of its network planning and optimization software. This new release is designed to elevate collaboration by facilitating the sharing of full 3D network plans, supporting the smooth transition to cutting-edge technologies, and optimizing network systems for peak performance. With a modernized user interface (UI), Ranplan 7.0 sets a new standard for operational efficiency and innovation.
Enhanced User Interface
The entirely refreshed UI features improved navigation, clear icons, and a user-friendly design, including both light and dark mode options. Whether new or experienced, users will find the software easier and faster to use. Additionally, the inclusion of the Japanese language fortifies usability in a leading market for Local 5G (aka 5G Private Wireless).
Enriched 3D Viewer
Users will experience greater fine-tuning in 3D modelling with enhanced textures, colours, and transparency, allowing for intuitive and immersive visualizations. Dynamic control provides complete management of layers, materials, and objects, enabling real-time adjustments to create the perfect view of the external environment and network components. The 3D offset view grants detailed floor-by-floor analysis, making it easier to spot imperfections, and plan, design and optimize networks throughout their lifecycles most effectively.
IFC Export in the spirit of Building Information Modelling (BIM)
In a significant move, Ranplan 7.0 enables exports of building and network design models in accordance with the BIM-accredited Industry Foundation Classes (IFC) format. This milestone allows stakeholders to manage the whole process across various 3D viewing and management systems, interoperate with 3rd party software components, and exchange and re-use precious data in a world increasingly powered by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning.
Migration to Next-Generation Technologies
In adherence to regulatory organisations, Ranplan 7.0 comes armed with Dynamic Spectrum Sharing, making it possible to efficiently and easily plan and simulate progressive migration from LTE to 5G (and from 5G to 5G Advanced) with an exemplary level of granularity. Furthermore, Ranplan 7.0 is fully prepared for Wi-Fi 7, the latest and most advanced Wi-Fi standard. This allows users to design and implement cutting-edge wireless networks that leverage faster data rates and increased capacity. Upgrading to Wi-Fi 7 enhances performance, providing lower latency and higher reliability, crucial for modern business operations that depend on seamless connectivity for productivity and predictability.
Message from the CEO
“Harnessing effective collaboration is imperative to ensure maximum network performance, design productivity and ultimately project profitability as the wireless industry begins to tap the growth potential inherent in the most advanced use cases, where the benefits of 5G and Wi-Fi 7 make a true difference, comments Per Lindberg, CEO of Ranplan Group. “Ranplan 7.0 is built with the user perspective at its focal point. Our latest incarnation of state-of-the-art software tools offers concrete advancements across several domains, enabling network planners to achieve higher quality, optimize the use of network resources and meet exacting technical and operational requirements. As network owners seek to take full advantage of 5G and Wi-Fi 7 for in-building and/or HetNet (indoor/outdoor in full unison) scenarios Ranplan – catering to customers’ real needs and wants – has the tools to engender successful outcomes.”
