Stillfront and NAVER WEBTOON Partner to Bring Webcomics to Global Gaming Audiences
Nanobit to Develop Free-to-Play Mobile Games Featuring Some of NAVER WEBTOON’s Most Popular Series
Stillfront studio’s Nanobit has today announced it has partnered with NAVER WEBTOON, WEBTOON Entertainment Inc.’s Korean platform, to develop new free-to-play mobile games based on popular webcomic titles for gaming audiences worldwide.
Nanobit’s new collection of interconnected games will initially feature five of NAVER WEBTOON’s top webcomics including “Operation: True Love,” “My Roommate is a Gumiho,” “My ID is Gangnam Beauty,” “See You in My 19th Life,” and “Secretary’s Escape,” with the potential to expand to additional titles in the future. The strategic partnership aligns well with Stillfront's strategy to drive organic growth, expand its narrative games franchise ecosystem, and leverage engine sharing opportunities. The strategic partnership will further strengthen Stillfront’s presence in Asia by establishing a business relationship with a strong global partner.
“It is with great pleasure that we announce our partnership with WEBTOON. This collaboration will allow Nanobit to create player-centric, narrative games and bring some of WEBTOON's most popular IPs to life. Entering this partnership aligns with our strategy to expand our narrative games franchise portfolio. Additionally, it will boost our marketing efforts as we strive to provide an exceptional gaming experience to millions of WEBTOON readers,” says Alexis Bonte, Interim CEO, Stillfront.
The collaboration is the latest example of WEBTOON Entertainment’s work to extend its content across new formats and platforms. The company’s global IP & Creator Ecosystem includes webcomics, webnovels, TV and film, print books, merch, gaming, and more, bringing WEBTOON stories and characters to audiences in a variety of engaging and interactive mediums.
