Skanska upgrades railway station in Jihlava, Czech Republic, for CZK 1.3 billion, about SEK 570M
Skanska has signed a contract with The Railway Administration of the Czech Republic for the modernization of Jihlava-City railway station. The contract is worth CZK 1.3 billion, about SEK 570M, which will be included in the order bookings for Europe for the third quarter 2024.
The project will include modern track configuration with 5.6 kilometers of new tracks, installing 15 new switches and new station security systems. Skanska will also build two barrier-free platforms, and a new station building.
Once completed, the modernization will bring increased reliability and safety in the railway operations, partly due to upgraded security systems and infrastructure enhancements like the new underpass designed for future high-speed rail integration.
Construction will start in August 2024 with expected completion in December 2025.
