SENS and Aeonic form joint venture for the development of solar and battery parks
Sustainable Energy Solutions Sweden Holding AB ("SENS" or "the Company") and real estate company Aeonic AB ("Aeonic") have entered into a joint venture agreement with the aim of identifying and developing solar and battery parks in the Swedish market.
SENS and the real estate group Aeonic have today signed a joint venture agreement. This strategic collaboration involves the formation of a jointly owned company, with a primary focus on identifying and securing suitable land areas for the establishment of solar and battery parks. Initially, the jointly owned company plans to enter into agreements for six to nine land areas for these purposes, with a timeframe extending from the fourth quarter of 2023 to the second quarter of 2024.
Henrik Boman, CEO of SENS, comments:
"This joint venture with Aeonic marks an exciting new chapter in our efforts to drive the transition to renewable energy in Sweden. By combining Aeonic's knowledge and network in the real estate sector with our expertise in sustainable energy, we are confident that we can strengthen our project portfolio of solar and battery parks in strategic locations in Sweden."
In recent months, SENS has intensified efforts to initiate several energy storage projects in Sweden. SENS is working on a long-term strategy to develop projects within the energy system into attractive investment opportunities, with a current focus on identifying land areas that can contribute to the future electricity system in the form of solar and battery parks.
Peter Saxby, CEO of Aeonic, adds:
"Aeonic was founded with a time perspective spanning generations. Long-term property management and development are sustainable both ecologically and economically. It is gratifying that, through cooperation with SENS, we can now also contribute to the green transition by locally adding solar power and battery parks that stabilize the electricity grid."
Aeonic owns, develops, produces new properties, and conducts long-term management of properties and land in the Stockholm region, Mälardalen, and at university and college towns in Sweden. The business is conducted in-house as well as through joint ventures with property owners and collaborative partners.
