SCA publishes 2023 annual report
SCA publishes its annual report for the year 2023 today.
Through significant strategic investments, such as the capacity increase at the paper mill in Obbola, pulp production in Ortviken and the modernization of the Bollsta sawmill, SCA strengthens its production capacity and its value chain. These measures, along with the startup of a jointly owned biorefinery in Gothenburg, position the company well to meet an increasing demand for climate-smart products. The company's high self-sufficiency in forest raw materials, energy, and logistics creates favorable conditions for maintaining good cost control.
Since January 1, 2023, Renewable Energy is reported as a separate segment, with a focus on sustainable energy solutions, which underscores the company's commitment to the climate transition. With 20 percent of Sweden's wind power capacity on the company's land, SCA continues to develop its ability to produce fossil-free and renewable electricity.
SCA contributes to a significant climate benefit, nearly 13 million tons of carbon dioxide equivalents for 2023, which demonstrates SCA's important role in the climate transition.
By nurturing and managing forest holdings, SCA contributes not only to a sustainable environment but also to economic growth and biodiversity.
The annual report is available on the SCA website at www.sca.com. The printed annual report will begin to be distributed to shareholders and other stakeholders from March 20, 2024.
The annual report is published in accordance with the reporting requirements of the European Single Electronic Format (ESEF). In accordance with the requirements of the ESEF, the year-end report has been provided with XBRL tags. The ESEF files can be downloaded at sca.com
