Rejlers helps the Swedish Transport Administration upgrade road protection facilities in Norrbotten
Rejlers has been commissioned by the Swedish Transport Administration to be responsible for the design of new road protection facilities in Norrbotten. The project, which is an important part of the Swedish Transport Administration's work to improve traffic safety throughout Sweden, includes level crossings mainly in the municipalities of Boden and Älvsbyn.
The Swedish Transport Administration currently has about 6,500 level crossings, of which 2,770 have active road protection systems, i.e. barriers and/or sound and light signals. The current technology's lifespan has been used up and to ensure long-term and reliable future operation, a new and modern automatic level crossing technology, so-called ALEX technology is now being introduced.
Rejlers' assignment involves designing the new road protection facilities at selected level crossings in the municipalities of Boden and Älvsbyn. In the project, Rejlers contributes with expertise in signalling technology, low voltage, ducting, soil, geotechnical engineering and dewatering. The assignment is an important part of the Swedish Transport Administration's extensive work to improve safety at level crossings across the country.
“Rejlers has extensive experience of ALEX technology and has built up strong expertise in road protection systems. We are pleased to be able to contribute to the Swedish Transport Administration's work to modernise and thereby improve Sweden's road protection facilities and look forward to continuing to develop our collaboration”, says Anel Bajramovic, Business Area Manager Railway at Rejlers.
