PolarCool signs an Olympic Games agreement with the German Boxing Association
PolarCool AB (publ) has entered into an agreement with the German Boxing Association (DBA) for the use of the PolarCap® System during the Olympic Games in Paris 2024. The agreement with the German boxing association is PolarCool’s first agreement within the boxing segment and marks important progress for the company in its continuing expansion.
PolarCool develops and markets the product PolarCap®, which alleviates the effects of concussions. The primary users of PolarCap® include sports clubs, organizations, and facilities in contact sports such as ice hockey, rugby, football, and handball, but also other sports with an increased risk of concussion.
The agreement with the German Boxing Association will provide the German team with access to the PolarCap® System throughout their Paris 2024 Olympic Games campaign. Following the Games, the objective is for the DBA to pursue a larger collective agreement to supply PolarCap® Systems across German boxing.
PolarCool has recently made significant progress across various sporting segments, securing agreements in ice hockey, rugby, American football, and soccer. The boxing market has always been of significant interest to PolarCool due to the high incidence and severity of concussions and head injuries in the sport.
PolarCool's CEO, Erik Andersson, comments:
-In our continued expansion into new sports markets, we are pleased to announce our first agreement within boxing. It is especially gratifying that this treatment will be provided at the Olympic Games. There is a substantial need for solutions to address head injury concerns in boxing, and this market holds great potential for PolarCool.
The agreement with the German boxing association is an important step in on a new market segment, even in the financial value of individual agreements are limited.
