LEBEN SALUD IS THE FIRST CLINICS IN LATIN AMERICA TO INCORPORATE C-RAD’S CUTTING EDGE SGRT TECHNOLOGY TO ENABLE FASTER AND SAFER TREATMENTS.
Leben Salud, a prestigious medical institution located in the Argentine Patagonia, becomes the first clinic in Latin America to incorporate C-RAD technology to enable safer radiation treatment to more patients and help improve their quality of life.
“At Leben Salud the patients safety and comfort is our highest priority. We selected the C-RAD Catalyst+HD system to enable us to provide this new treatment technology with the highest level of accuracy and safety possible Says Ricardo Ruggeri, Ms. C. en Física Médica, Dirección Técnica de Leben Salud sd – “ With this state-of-the-art system we will know we are offering the best quality of care for our patients.
The collaboration between C-RAD and the Comprehensive Cancer Center (COI) includes the implementation of C-RAD Catalyst+ HD and Sentinel (4DCT) in its Neuquén facilities, and the implementation of Catalyst+ HD in its Cipolletti facilities.
We are delighted to initiate this collaboration with Leben Salud and to team up with them to pioneer the development of surface tracking technology once again and making it standard of care in Patagonia, says Tim Thurn, CEO of C-RAD AB.
C-RAD Catalyst+ HD SGRT technology uses multiple high-resolution projection cameras to map the patient's body surface during setup and treatment. This high-resolution surface map improves treatment accuracy, treatment efficacy, and patient safety. Unlike other positioning technologies, SGRT does not use radiation for positioning, reducing the patient's overall radiation exposure.
“SGRT uses the external surface of the patient to help ensure that the radiation dose is delivered consistently according to the treatment plan”, explains Douglas Utter, Latin America Sales Director of C-RAD.
“The Catalyst+ HD system provides sub-millimeter accuracy for stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT) as well as deep inspiration breath hold treatments (DIBH). The DIBH technique is used for breast cancer treatments and we are very proud to be one of the first clinics in Patagonia to be able to offer this type of treatments for our patients.” Continues Ricardo Ruggeri, Ms. C. en Física Médica, Dirección Técnica de Leben Salud sd “Overall, the C-RAD SGRT systems will be a valuable tool to improve the accuracy of radiotherapy in Patagonia”.
