Integrum participates in war-related amputee care workshop to support amputee care in Ukraine
Mölndal, Sweden, September 19, 2023 – Integrum (publ) (Nasdaq First North Growth Market: INTEG B) announces today that the company’s CEO Rickard Brånemark will moderate a workshop in Ukraine on 21 September, focusing on war-related amputee care. The workshop gathers some of the world's most prominent specialists and is supported by several ministries in Ukraine.
Rickard Brånemark is currently visiting Kyiv, Ukraine, to treat wounded soldiers, to train Ukrainian orthopaedic surgeons in advanced amputee care and to support the build-up of expanded trauma healthcare. The need for amputee care has increased rapidly since the Russian invasion. At least 20,000 soldiers have lost extremities and are in need of prostheses at a time when the healthcare system is under vast pressure.
The surgical training sessions are followed by a Workshop on War-Related Amputee Care. The workshop is supported by: Center for Complex Endoprosthetics, Osseointegration and Bionics, the Mirum Clinic, Kyiv, Ukraine; The Ministry of Health of Ukraine; The Medical Forces Command of Ukraine; The Department of Traumatology and Orthopedics of Bogomolets National Medical University; State University Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine; The Ministry of Social Policy of Ukraine; Ministry of Veterans Affairs of Ukraine; and Integrum, Sweden.
The workshop is open for journalists to attend.
