GomSpace names former “RUAG Space” Executive, Oliver Schiewe as VP, Program Business Unit
Effective April 1,2024, GomSpace is further strengthening its leadership by appointing Oliver Schiewe as Vice President of the Program Business Unit, responsible for delivering all customer programs and missions in the company. Oliver is a seasoned C-level executive with 19 years of experience from the Space Industry and RUAG Space in Switzerland. Oliver will relocate from Switzerland to Aalborg.
GomSpace continues to build business focused on delivering specialized customer missions, both in low earth orbit and deep space, and mission business remains a core part of the company’s growth strategy.
To enhance mission and program leadership, space industry veteran Oliver Schiewe is appointed as Vice President for the Program Business Unit. With nearly two decades at RUAG Space (now “Beyond Gravity”), Oliver brings extensive experience in complex space projects, involving multiple stakeholders and sustained customer engagement. His most recent role was Director for Quality & Safety at Swiss Railway Cargo systems.

Proficient in steering complex projects, transitioning from development to manufacturing, and identifying new business prospects, Oliver is a success-oriented executive actively enhancing team performance. His leadership style integrates vision, strategy, and motivation, emphasizing responsibility and accountability. Oliver's expertise spans P&L Management, Strategic, planning, Project Management, Industrialization, Contract Negotiations, Leadership, Turnaround, Change Management, Coaching, and a deep understanding of quality systems like ISO 9100 & 9001. Past roles as Senior Vice President at RUAG Aerostructure Switzerland AG and RUAG Space Switzerland AG showcased his ability to lead international teams, negotiate contracts, and drive growth.
