Company Announcement No. 18-2021:

About DecideAct A/S [ACT]

DecideAct has today signed a contract with the first educational institution in Denmark. ZBC is among Denmark's largest vocational schools with HHX and HTX high schools as well as 10th grade in eight cities on Zealand. ZBC has approximately 6,000 annual students, a turnover of 710 million DKK, more than 1,000 employees, and branches in Holbæk, Køge, Næstved, Ringsted, Roskilde, Slagelse, Vordingborg, and Kalundborg.

ZBC will use DecideAct's cloud solution to monitor and coordinate its overall efforts towards the UN SDGs, involving teachers, students, and administration across the eight cities. With more than 40 different vocational programs, ZBC's primary mission is to deliver a wide range of high-quality education - but also with a focus on how the school's work impacts society and citizens.

Jan Bagge, Deputy Director of ZBC, says: "In 2020, we became a UNESCO World Goal School, which means that the UN's Sustainable Development Goals are reflected in both the teaching and the running of ZBC. Among other things, we implement climate accounting, just as we emphasize sustainability and citizenship in our teaching. We are a big school, and when we work with sustainability, it has an impact on a lot of people. Roughly 250,000 students, teachers, staff, and other stakeholders will be affected over a ten-year period and considering that the Region of Zealand has a population of just under 800,000, we can make a significant difference."

According to Jan Bagge, the school has high expectations for the way DecideAct's digital platform and associated app can create visibility and transparency across the school's many departments and from management level to the individual students about efforts and initiatives in relation to the SDGs.

"Our approach is to drive change from the bottom up. In education, we have SDG councils, where student and staff enthusiasts take initiatives and get things started. With DecideAct's digital tool, we can create visibility and transparency around the goals and KPIs that they define themselves. It is precisely this crowd vision approach that made us choose this solution. We find the synergy that is created by the fact that people in Næstved can follow what they are doing in Slagelse and Roskilde via an app very exciting. It fits well with the way we already think about co-creation," says Jan Bagge.

Currently, around 100 people are involved in ZBC's SDG Council - ranging from students and teachers to managers and relevant staff functions. Together with the Verdens Bedste Nyheder media (World's Best News), ZBC has created an academy where council members receive training on the UN SDGs, and in addition to many expressing excitement about making a difference, several also see working on the SDG council as an extra boost to their personal CVs.

Lars Møller, Strategy Execution Expert at DecideAct, says: "We welcome ZBC as a client of DecideAct and we look forward to helping the vocational school put their sustainability strategy into practice. The contract is an important step for us as it is the first with an educational institution in Denmark – and, in addition, one of the most innovative and leading in their field."
