Careium social alarm is no longer experiencing service interruptions in Sweden
On the 23rd of March Careium experienced a service interruption which affected all Swedish social alarms. The problem has now been located and prioritised system functions have been restored so that the social alarms are operational as of 6:30 pm. It has been concluded that the service interruption was caused by a cyber-attack.
An experienced team of technicians is currently conducting a thorough investigation of the incident.
Since gaining knowledge of the service interruptions, Careium has been in close contact with our customers, the municipalities, who have in turn activated crisis plans. Despite the service interruption the social alarm system has retained some operability through Careium informing the municipalities of incoming alarms. Somewhat longer call response times may be expected this evening.
Careium’s highest priority at this stage is to further investigate the situation and facilitate continued service for our customers and service users. This information will be updated as and when new information becomes available.
