BPC Instruments launches AMPTS[®] III – the next-generation instrument for biogas production
BPC Instruments AB (“BPC” or “the Company”) announces today the global launch of BPC’s latest innovation, AMPTS® III and AMPTS® III Light – the next-generation analytical tools for anaerobic batch fermentation assays. The tools are designed to provide feedstock selection, quality control, and optimization for biogas plants, and are ideally suited for ensuring stable and efficient biogas production. The new instrument features brand-new hardware and software platform that will replace the existing product AMPTS®, which has had a big contribution to sales turnover of approx. SEK 10 million annually in the last three years. BPC expects increased profits with this new generation due to a greatly increased profit margin compared to the existing products.
CEO Dr. Jing Liu comments:
“The market demand for the development of renewable fuel and new materials for replacing plastics is rapidly increasing globally. AMPTS® has been the top choice of industrial biogas plants, service providers, research institutes, and universities worldwide for optimizing biogas production processes and ensuring stable plant operation by selecting and controlling the quality of receiving biomass feedstock. The release of a new generation of AMPTS® and its Light version marks an important milestone for BPC to maintain our top market position in this niche business sector and is well in line with our objectives for 2023, communicated in connection to our IPO in December 2021.”
With its precision and accuracy, durability, ease-of-use, and low-maintenance profile, the AMPTS® III and its Light version are expected to be practical and reliable tools for working with feedstock challenges and process optimization in biogas and biomethane production. The launch of the new generation of AMPTS® is well-timed with the urgent global demand for increased biogas and biomethane production. BPC, therefore, expects high global market potential with this new equipment in the coming years.
About AMPTS® III and AMPTS® III Light
AMPTS® III and AMPTS® III Light are well-engineered analytical tools for conducting various anaerobic batch fermentation tests. They allow users to determine the true biogas and biomethane potential as well as the dynamic degradation profile of any biomass substrates. This will help users to determine the optimal retention time and mix of substrates for co-digestion, screen proper pre-treatment methods, and evaluate the need for additives while also evaluating the biological performance of individual biogas digesters or process configurations. They can perform, with up to 18 or 9 test vials, biochemical methane potential (BMP) tests, biogas potential assays, biodegradability studies, specific methanogenic activity (SMA) assays as well as conducting residual gas potential (RGP) analyses on digested slurry. These tests are easy to conduct with access to sampling, analysis, recording, and report generation that is fully integrated and automated.
