Ovzon: Another milestone achieved - ABG

First Ovzon-3 order: USD 6.2m from the US DoD
33% upgrade of the last US DoD contract
Neutral to estimates as order announcements are already expected


First Ovzon-3 order

After reaching geostationary orbit and becoming commercially operational on 5 July, Ovzon has announced the first order for its Ovzon-3 satellite (launched in January 2024). The 12-month order was activated on 1 August and is worth USD 6.2m. The first customer to purchase capacity on Ovzon-3 is, perhaps unsurprisingly, the US DoD - one of Ovzon's most important long-term customers. The deal replaces the previous 8-month contract signed in December 2023, which was worth USD 3.1m. On an annualised basis of the December contract (USD 4.7m), the new contract represents a 33% upgrade.
