PolarCool extends PolarCap® agreement with Ystads IF
The Med-Tech company PolarCool AB (publ.) have extended their agreement with Swedish handball team Ystads IF. Since 2021, the successful handball club has utilized PolarCool’s PolarCap® System to provide concussion management for their athletes.
PolarCool develops and markets the product PolarCap®, which alleviates the effects of concussions. The primary users of PolarCap® include sports clubs, organizations, and facilities in contact sports such as ice hockey, rugby, football, and handball, but also other sports with an increased risk of concussion.
Handball is one of PolarCool’s key markets, with recent milestones including a partnership with the German Handball Association. This agreement ensured that the German men's national team had access to the PolarCap® system during the Olympic Games in Paris. Ystads IF was the first handball club in Sweden to adopt the PolarCap® System when they initially signed an agreement in 2021, and their recent contract extension underscores the continued success of the collaboration.
PolarCool CEO Erik Andersson comments;
-We are pleased that Ystads IF has chosen to extend their agreement for PolarCap® and continue to prioritize player safety. The club's medical team has been a trailblazer in concussion management, and it’s rewarding to see PolarCap® become a vital part of their concussion protocols.
The extension with Ystad IF is strategically important, even if the financial significance of individual agreements is limited.
