SaltX receives a partial order of approximately MSEK 70 for deliveries to the world's first electrified lime manufacturing facility
The order of approximately MSEK 70 concerns key components for the first of three EAC kiln lines for the ZEQL plant on behalf of SMA Minerals. This is the first in a series of orders from SMA regarding electrification and carbon dioxide capture technology.
The collaboration between SaltX Technology and SMA has been ongoing since the spring of 2022, when the companies entered a partnership that, among other things, resulted in the jointly owned brand ZEQL (Zero Emission Quicklime), an electrified factory concept to produce Quicklime, free of carbon dioxide emissions. During the current year, the collaboration has been further deepened, with SaltX committing to deliver nine EAC kilns by 2027. Carl-Johan Linér, CEO of SaltX Technology says:
"I am very proud and happy! This order is the largest and most important in SaltX's history. It marks the start of our journey towards becoming an impactful and important player in the industry's transition to reduced carbon dioxide emissions together with SMA Mineral”.
This first order to SaltX concerns a partial order of key components for the first kiln line. After that, SMA plans to build several production lines at the first plant, as well as future plants, to meet the increasing demand for climate-neutral quicklime." Svante Fielding, CEO at SMA Mineral:
"We have an aggressive conversion plan until 2027, where we will halve our CO2 emissions. In order to reach that goal and to follow the schedule for our first electrified plant, it is with great anticipation that we are now placing our first partial order".
The order concerns heating technology in the form of an electric plasma heater and an associated electric control system where SaltX collaborates with partner companies ScanArc and ABB.
