Wihlborgs signs agreement with the Swedish Prosecution Authority in central Lund
In the Sockerbruk area next to Lund Central, Wihlborgs is implementing the second phase of the Posthornet 1 new production project. The development will further develop the centrally located block through the addition of modern office premises. The Swedish Prosecution Authority has now signed a six-year lease for 2,300 square metres with a preliminary move-in date during the second quarter of 2026.
The agreement is the first signed during the second phase of Posthornet 1 and the largest floor, close to 25 percent of the total space, is now let. The first phase of the office building was completed in 2018 and is fully let, with a mix of operations like those of Trivector, Klaravik, Skandia, Veidekke and Folktandvården.
The area outside Posthornet, Sockertorget, is already bustling and dynamic. This atmosphere will be further strengthened by the offerings in the ground floor of the new section of Posthornet, with plans for a café and restaurant.
Over the last few years, Wihlborgs has actively participated in developing the Sockerbruk area with new construction, such as Sockerbiten (Raffinaderiet 5), which was completed in 2019, and the renovation of the hundred-year-old Raffinaderiet property (Raffinaderiet 3), which was completed in 2023.
When the second phase of Posthornet is completed, Wihlborgs will have properties along the entire railway line, from south of the station area to King Oscar’s bridge further north.
“Through Posthornet we want to offer flexible, centrally located office premises in Lund that are close to public transportation and services. With its mix of residences, commercial premises, cafés and proximity to Lund Central Station, there is activity in this area throughout the entire day. This is an opportunity to locate right in the middle of the action, with larger modern premises that still retain the character and cosiness of a small neighbourhood,” says Ulrika Hallengren, CEO of Wihlborgs.
