Sweco links existing guarantee facility with SEB to sustainability
Sweco has entered into an agreement with SEB to sustainability link its existing guarantee facility, which is used to secure Sweco’s undertakings to external counterparts in, inter alia, the Nordic countries and Germany.
The terms and conditions of the bank guarantees will be linked to targets for Sweco’s long-term initiatives to reduce GHG emissions in own operations and to increase gender equality among employees.
“Sweco’s operations are characterised by an integrated approach to working with sustainability. Sweco previously linked its EUR 400 million loan facility to the company’s sustainability agenda. We are now taking another step by connecting an additional bank facility to Sweco’s climate and social sustainability targets,” says Olof Stålnacke, CFO of Sweco.

Background, Sweco’s sustainability agenda
Sweco’s primary contribution to reduced emissions and sustainable social development is through the 120,000 ongoing customer projects for private and public sector customers. In its own operations, Sweco has a goal of halving the company’s carbon dioxide emissions by 2030 and achieving climate neutrality by 2040. Regardless of gender, everyone should have the same rights and opportunities to become and work as architects, engineers, technicians and specialists. By 2040, Sweco aims to reach 40 per cent share of women in the Group.
