SEB publishes Annual Report 2024
SEB has published its Annual Report for the financial year 2024, which includes the report of the directors, including the corporate governance report and sustainability statement, and financial statements.
In the Annual Report, Marcus Wallenberg, Chair of SEB’s Board of Directors, and Johan Torgeby, SEB's President and CEO, summarise the past year.
“It was a challenging year characterised by continued geopolitical conflicts, with vast human suffering as a result, and political turbulence. From a macroeconomic perspective, however, things have eased somewhat. Inflation has largely been brought under control, and in Sweden, the Riksbank continued to cut interest rates to increase economic activity,” says Johan Torgeby.
“The result for the full year was solid. I would also like to highlight the bank’s very strong liquidity position and capital base. It is of the utmost importance that we have a financially strong and stable bank. This means that we can support our customers and the economy at large, both in good and challenging times, and is a prerequisite for growth,” says Marcus Wallenberg.
In the Annual Report for 2024, SEB has voluntarily and earlier than required chosen to apply the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) for its sustainability statement. The purpose of the directive is to make the reporting more comparable and reliable.
SEB has the ambition to accelerate progress towards a sustainable future for people, the environment, and the economy. The sustainability statement includes an update on the development regarding the ambitions and goals SEB has set within the climate area to reach a net zero credit portfolio by 2050 at the latest.
