SEB appoints new Country Manager UK and new Head of Private Wealth Management & Family Office

Mats Torstendahl, currently Deputy President and CEO, is appointed Country Manager of SEB UK. Anders Engstrand, the current UK Country Manager, will take up the position as Head of Private Wealth Management & Family Office, part of SEB’s Wealth & Asset Management division. The changes are effective as of August 25, 2025.

“I am very pleased to make these announcements. Mats Torstendahl and Anders Engstrand are highly experienced members of SEB’s senior management. They will now apply their knowledge and customer focus in new areas of the bank. SEB’s efforts during the coming years will be centered around business growth, including capturing long-term potential in our wealth and asset management business and corporate growth,” says Johan Torgeby, President and CEO of SEB.

Mats Torstendahl has worked in SEB for 16 years. Prior to his current position, held since 2021, he led SEB’s Business & Retail Banking division for 12 years. Torstendahl’s extensive banking experience combined with his strong track record of delivering value to SEB’s customers will be instrumental when SEB continues to grow its presence in the UK.

Anders Engstrand has been with SEB since 1995, and in his current position since 2020. During Engstrand’s tenure, SEB has solidified its position in the UK and has successfully expanded its client base. Engstrand has vast experience from Investment Banking and capital market transactions at SEB.

In connection to the changes, Mats Torstendahl will leave his current position as Deputy President and CEO and will thus no longer be a member of the Group Executive Committee. Instead, he will be part of SEB’s Senior Leadership Committee. Mats Torstendahl will continue as an advisor to SEB’s President and CEO on certain assignments.

Anders Engstrand will continue as a member of SEB’s Senior Leadership Committee.
