Railcare is making organisational changes within the contracting business

{newsItem.title}

Railcare Group adapts its organisation to optimise staff resources within the contracting business. This is made possible by bringing all machine operators together within Railcare Resources AB, where a new Operations Manager has been recruited, along with taking a partially new approach to operations in the UK. The organisational change means that costs corresponding to SEK 3 million will be charged to the result during the fourth quarter of 2022.

Railcare Resources AB will supply other Railcare companies with machine operators for contracts carried out within both Contracting Sweden and Contracting Abroad. Resources can be optimised based on current customer needs, along with better conditions for the operators carrying out their work.

- Our primary aim is to build an even stronger team of machine operators. We will do this by bringing them together in one company and recruiting an Operations Manager who will develop both the organisation and the individual, says Mattias Remahl, CEO at Railcare Group AB.”

As Operations Manager for the machine operators in Railcare Resources AB, Lotta Dahlqvist joins the company in mid-March 2023. Lotta has an extensive background in organisational development and has worked as a consultant developing teams for several different companies. Most recently in her role as Principal within the Skellefteå municipality. Mattias Remahl says:

- Above all, Lotta has extensive experience in building teams and creating team spirit, something that is prioritised in our business. Employees who enjoy their work in turn pave the way for both successful customer projects and future professional growth.”

Some changes have also been made linked to the operations in the UK as the former Business Area Manager for Contracting Abroad, Daniel Öholm, has left Railcare Group. Instead, more cross-border staff resources will be called upon based on projects, the aim here is also to optimise the resources.

- We will work more with partners on the railway in the UK for a better reach on what we can offer both within and outside the framework agreement with Network Rail, says Mattias Remahl.”

Due to the organisational change, costs corresponding to SEK 3 million will be charged to the result during Q4 2022. Mattias Remahl concludes:

- With these changes, we aim to achieve a more efficient organisation with better resource management and I look forward to continuing working towards a more sustainable railway.
