Hynion will supply Viggo with fuel for their hydrogen taxis in Oslo
Hynion has entered into an agreement with the taxi company Viggo to refuel the company's growing fleet of hydrogen taxis. The fleet will be built up with Toyota's new hydrogen car Mirai.
Viggo is now establishing a taxi fleet with hydrogen-powered cars, and the agreement specifies that these will be filled at Hynion's hydrogen station at Høvik in Bærum.
“The taxi market is strategically very important for Hynion as we now expand our network of stations in Norway and Sweden, and consequently we are very happy to enter into this agreement with Private Driver. This is a market segment where the hydrogen car's long range and fast refueling make it a superior alternative,” says CEO Ulf Hafseld of Hynion AS.
Currently, Viggo has acquired three Toyota Mirai II hydrogen cars, with plans to increase the fleet. The taxis will be based in the Oslo region.
Although refueling will initially take place at the Høvik station, the agreement also covers new stations Hynion will establish elsewhere in Norway. The agreement includes, among other elements, a solution for Private Driver with username and password login that the drivers can use for refueling. Hynion has a track record of superior customer service and has established a hotline for swift access for both new and existing drivers.
“Hydrogen is very suitable for taxis that want to drive long distances and be on the move as much as possible. With hydrogen you can fill the tank in a few minutes and drive many hundreds of kilometers before the next filling. This means that you drive climate-friendly and do not have to spend a lot of time charging. This means that hydrogen is good for both the climate and the economy in the taxi industry”, says Joar Tennfjord, CEO of Viggo.
