Eleven Stories signs development, co-production and financing agreement with Kodachrome GmbH & Co KG
The media company Eleven Stories, a part of Hoi Publishing, has signed an agreement with German based Kodachrome GmbH & Co KG regarding the development, co-production and partial financing of three film productions. The agreement has an immediate order value of over one million SEK in the form of development capital and also involves a declaration of intent from Kodachrome to co-produce, part-finance these film productions which have a total budget of at least 250 MSEK. In addition, Kodachrome has a first option to purchase the rights for German speaking territories and will support Eleven Stories on world sales.
Kodachrome GmbH & Co KG sees great potential in the current film productions - where the first is the previously mentioned Western thriller Bloody Benders - and thus invests more than one million SEK now directly to take the productions forward. The other two productions are considered to have at least as much potential for success as Bloody Benders, but are not ready to be made public yet. The agreement involves an important strategic collaboration with a very strong partner and can be seen as a breakthrough for Eleven Stories in the financing endeavors for the film productions in question.
Kodachrome GmbH is a new German media company which combines financing, production, acquisition and distribution know-how. The company had its market premier last month at the most recent European Film Market in Berlin.
Its founder Georg Prokop is a highly experienced German TV producer who has created several successful formats for the public broadcasters ARD and ZDF. Together with Josef Brandmaier, an internationally renowned film financing expert, and acquisition and distribution specialist Michael Müllner, Kodachrome is a new, financially strong and independent player on the market. The main focus is on building strong alliances with reputable partners who share Kodachrome's vision and philosophy: to develop, produce and distribute high quality and commercial international projects in a cooperative and trustful manner.
"The development of our strongest film productions is progressing rapidly and with Kodachrome as a partner, we have all the means to take the current productions forward towards full financing", says Anette Mattsson, CEO of Eleven Stories.
"When Eleven Stories pitched their development slate to us for the first time, we wanted to be part of this right away. These are three very exciting and commercial films, perfect for distributors around the world. One of the projects is even exceptional in our eyes, and we can’t wait until Eleven Stories will announce it. Together as a team with strong world sales partners like Capstone Studios, run by our close friend Christian Mercuri, we can’t wait to bring these titles to the big screens. " says Michael Müllner, Managing Director Kodachrome GmbH & Co KG.
